The citizens of Fort Cavazos, Killeen, Harker Heights, and Nolanville Texas will be going to the voting booth on Saturday, 4 May 2024 to select the newest members of the KISD (Killeen Independent School District). There will be two seats to fill in this election – the most in recent history. Joanne P. (Place 7)(had been on the school board for the previous 17-years) moved out of district recently and their seat is presently vacant. Cullen M., (Place 6) a small business owner in the City of Killeen decided not to run for re-election. Thus, there are presently two open seats.
Place 6 has three candidates noted running on the KISD website:
Place 7 has four people listed, but one of those four has already filed their FINAL financial report, thus, they no longer have the required treasurer active (a requirement to campaign, tell people you are running and raise monies or spend monies on your campaign).
One candidate for Place 6 (Dr. John A. Doranski) and another in Place 7 (MiOk Doranski) have a established website for voters to review and learn who the candidates are before the election: DoranskiforKISD.com
